Thank you for considering submitting an abstract for WEON 2024!
Abstract submission is free of charge and must be completed online via the Abstract Submission platform. Abstracts submitted by e-mail will not be accepted. By starting an abstract submission, the author agrees to follow these Rules and Guidelines. Failure to comply will result in rejection of your submission.
Abstracts must be submitted by the submission deadline, which is Sunday 17 March, 23:59 (CET). The deadline for abstract submission has been extended to Sunday 31 March, 23:59 (CET). Late submissions will not be accepted.
Bachelor and master students are invited to submit an abstract concerning their epidemiological internship. A maximum of six abstracts will be nominated for the VvE Student Award. All nominees will have to give a face-to-face oral presentation at the WEON. See for more information:

All accepted presenters must register for the congress before the deadline of the early registration May 1st, 2024. Presenters not registered by this date will not be included in the scientific programme.
Changes and Corrections
Once submitted, it is possible to make corrections to the abstract content or information (such as authors list and details) until the initial abstract submission deadline. The WEON committee is not authorized to make changes to a submission. To correct your abstract, you must make these changes yourself. Note that, such corrections to your abstract are not possible after the deadline. In the case of errors in your abstract discovered after the deadline, you may indicate the correction on your presentation. However, changes will not be included in the publications. If accepted, your abstract will be published as submitted.
Withdrawal
If you want to withdraw an abstract already submitted, please notify us as quickly as possible at weon2024@umcutrecht.nl stating the title and author name of the abstract to be withdrawn. Withdrawals are still accepted after the submission deadline.
Title
A maximum of 200 characters typed in lower-case letters, except for abbreviations and study names. Please be careful that your title might be truncated if you copy and paste it into the field. Do not include authors, institutions, city names, trademarks and abbreviations in the title.
Layout
Structure your abstract with the following headings
A maximum of 300 words are allowed for your abstract. Figures and tables are not allowed in the text.
Attachment
You are allowed to submit one figure to support your abstract (not in the abstract text). In order to include a table, you have to convert this to an image.
Blind review
Do not include any references to other persons in the abstract, title and figure. This includes:
